After posting my idea for a glove to easily heat-seal plastic I did some searching - It doesn't appear that anyone have thought about having heating projected away from the fingertips before. Plenty of products with heated gloves to keep you warm during the winter like the one in the image (
from this link), but what would be really cool is to modify that glove:
- Invert the heating direction of thumb and index fingers and isolate with some sort of silica aerogel around those fingers.
- Remove all other heaters.
- Teflon-coat the two heaters so the plastic stick less to the glove.
- Make the heaters only activate once they are close (<5mm) or being pressed together.

Option: Maybe only use one heater of the index finger and have a metal plate on the thumb.
